Liz Rebecca Alarcón is a social entrepreneur and Latinamericanist. She’s the Founder & Executive Director of Pulso, a non-profit media startup building trusted relationships with more than 1 million Latinos across the United States through culturally relevant news, history and culture content to then leverage those relationships for civic participation. Liz’s writing and commentary on Latin America and Latinos in the US has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, Time Magazine, Newsweek, The Miami Herald & El Nuevo Herald, among others. She is a former Fulbright Scholar to Costa Rica and an alum of the University of Miami and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Krystina François distills policy, systems, and opportunities for impact through storytelling, education, and strategy. As Executive Director of the Office of New Americans of Miami-Dade, she spearheads an innovative initiative to bring legal and financial resources for immigrants out of the office and into the community. Krystina is a first generation Haitian-American who is driven by the desire to create opportunities for immigrants and BIPOC femmes to have a voice. She also serves on the board of The Black Collective and the Junior League of Miami.
Debbie Murcasel-Powell made history as the first South American-born Member of Congress that flipped a diverse, majority-minority South Florida district in 2018. With over 20 years of experience providing strategic, policy, fiscal, fundraising, and operational leadership in both the public and non-profit sectors, Debbie is a national leader with a proven track record of success in non-profits, higher education, and Congress. Debbie continues to be a strong advocate for issues important to her and her community and was tapped to be a Senior Advisor to the Giffords to work on ending the gun violence epidemic that plagues this nation. She continues to appear as an analyst and commentator on MSNBC, CNN, Telemundo, Univision, CBS 4, Newsweek and several other Spanish and English media outlets.
