Earth Week Beach Cleanup with Miami Freedom Project and Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust

Celebrate this Earth Week by joining Miami Freedom Project and Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust for a Saturday beach clean-up. The clean up will be led by environmentalist and amateur mangrove trash collector Andrew Otazo. 

Andrew has spent over 113 days days over four years removing18,495 pounds of trash from South Florida’s mangrove forests and ocean floor. Let’s help him!

Parking available in the Main Recreation Center Lot.

What to wear:

• Long sleeve breathable shirt and hat 
• Shoes you don’t mind getting wet or dirty (old running shoes work)
• Garden or work gloves

What to bring:

• Reef-safe sunscreen and bug spray 
• Water in refillable bottle (no plastic please)
